We are a small family with a great passion for Dalmatians — dog lovers with heart, mind, and responsibility.
Our kennel is officially recognized and registered with VDH, CDF, and DZGD for transparency and responsible breeding.
Why „Illyria“?
Our kennel’s name is inspired by ancient Illyria, a historic region along the Adriatic coast that included parts of today’s Croatia, Montenegro, and Bosnia — precisely where the Dalmatia region lies, from which the breed takes its name.
Although the original origin of Dalmatians isn’t fully clear — spotted dogs appear in ancient Egyptian murals and Etruscan reliefs — Dalmatia is closely linked to the breed’s history and development.
For us, “House Illyria” means more than a place — it symbolizes a connection between past and future, tradition and modern breeding, beauty and health.
This is our first — and possibly only — litter, carefully planned and raised with exceptional care and intention, out of love for our Dalmatian girl, Zelda.
We approach breeding as a dedicated hobby, guided by science and responsibility.
In line with VDH and FCI guidelines, we focus on:
• modern health care, including genetic testing and DLA typing
• raising puppies as part of everyday family life
• thoughtful planning with the breed’s future in mind
• integrating LUA to support genetic diversity and health
Our goal is not just to “produce” puppies, but to raise true companions — for people who love and understand Dalmatians in all their facets.
